Clamor of a simple college student

I knew this will happen.

Yesterday, I safely got home from school (I skipped my practice for WYD and Rhetoric). On my way home, I saw the flashing lightning (as if it was a flash from a camera), heard the booming thunder (which scared me to death), felt the cool wind (which was not really cool at all, it is more sticky I guess), and smelled the scent of the rain.

I slept as early as 9pm (I usually sleep at around 11pm - 1am). I was really really tired because of the stress in school. Actually I was sleeping in front of my teacher in Church while she was discussing and now I felt so guilty. I did not even wrote a blog because my eyelids were falling. So I slept. I think of my angel before I sleep and then bang I am already asleep. I had a dream but I forgot about it. The pictures were really blurry, I guess it was because of my tiredness.

Mama woke me up as early as 4:30 A.M. I asked her if there's a class today. I went to the bathroom and took my bath (of course! What are you thinking? EATING in the bathroom?! Common sense). I still hear the news in the TV. I'm still waiting for the announcement.

"No class in preschool, elementary & high school in National Capital Region (NCR)." I wish I never graduated in high school.

I still manage to go to school. I slept at the bus because I am really sleepy. I felt my head falling in and out so I woke up. I'm still in the bus. I watched the morning news (Unang Hirit) in the bus. Good thing Arnold Clavio, the reporter, was having a phone patch interview with someone-big-in-the-CHEd (Commission on Higher Education). I really paid attention because I think "HE (WHOEVER HE IS) WILL ANNOUNCE THAT THE CLASSES ARE SUSPENDED!"

This was what Arnold Clavio told that guy in CHEd (I forgot his name because I was sleepy.) There's a little difference between 4th year high school and first year college. His point is WHY CHEd is not suspending the class yet?. I do not understand what the CHEd guy told him. For me it was like: decide on their own. If there's no way then don't go to school (the logic was somehow like that). They also say that the universities are in charge of that matter (suspension of classes).

Yes, there was no storm signal number but there was heavy rain. Yes, Department of Education suspends the class from preschool to high school in NCR because of the FLOOD (usually it's because of the flood).

THERE WERE ALSO HIGH SCHOOL INSTITUTES NEAR MY UNIVERSITY.

WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS? THEY STILL DON'T KNOW IF THEY'LL SUSPEND OUR NOT.

I was still inside the bus. Thinking. Thinking how to get at my school without getting my precious feet wet. While the traffic light was red, I got down the bus. I saw a VERY DIRTY RIVER IN TAFT AVENUE.

I really don't know what to do. I still wait for a pedicab to arrive, and I was thankful because a pedicab arrived as soon as I wished for it. Two UP (University of the Philippines) students wearing their cute white uniforms joined me in the pedicab. The level of the flood was quite high to reach the pedicab. My pedicab mates got their feet wet, good thing I put my feet at the opposite side of the pedicab. (HOW I WISH YOU CAN ALL VISUALIZE THESE THINGS).

I arrived at my school around 6:50 A.M. My mom called and said CLASSES ARE SUSPENDED IN UST (University of Santo Tomas) and in St. Paul. I ALREADY SHOUT AT MY ROOM "CLASSES ARE SUSPENDED IN ST. PAUL..." AND WE YELLED "YEAHHHHHHH...YES! YEHEY!" ..."SAINT PAUL Q.C (OTHER BRANCH OF ST. PAUL)"

Even my blockmate texted me that ST. PAUL MANILA's class was suspended.

I was out of our room with my block mates. We sat at nearby bench, some were standing.

We heard the most familiar bell in every school - the bell of announcements (that's what I call it just now). We heard a heart beat (lub dub lub dub).

(not exact words but the same thought)
"Good morning. This is from the office of the President. To all the students, faculty and staffs who are here in the school...YOU MAY NOW GO HOME"

"YES! WUHOOOOOOO."

All I wanted was an early announcement of class suspension because I spend 1/4 of my baon to go to school. I spend an effort to go to school.

All I clamor for a better development of the road in all schools in Metro Manila.

I am also a college student. In behalf of all the college student who experienced the same things in this blog WE ARE NOT WATER PROOF so are our professors. :)
